Kennt sich einer aus? Würde gern unter Linux eine *.txt in *.jpg oder *.png konvertieren

Soll das Bild nach irgendwas aussehen? Falls nicht, mach einfach einen JPeg-Header vor deine Textdatei.

Ne, die bekommt man nur auf vernünftig formulierte Fragen.
Du solltest besser erklären, warum du das machen willst und wie das Ergebnis aussehen soll. So wie du die Frage gestellt hast kann man nur vermuten, was du in etwa vorhaben könntest, und darauf kann man keine "qualifizierten" Antworten geben.

So, du hast jetzt drei Antworten bekommen, von denen dir keine weiterhilft. Da könnte man mal reflektieren und sich fragen, wer hier was falsch macht. Du wurdest sogar drauf hingewiesen, dass überhaupt nicht klar ist, was du machen willst, weigerst dich aber, dein Problem präzise zu beschreiben.

Konvertieren ist etwas anderes als umbenennen.
